Welcome to The Yarn Basket! We pride ourselves on making our customers happy by providing great service, weaving/knitting expertise and a variety of yarns, books, patterns and tools at reasonable prices. If you are just getting started we hold lessons and classes weekly. If you are a seasoned weaver or knitter we have the stuff to feed your fiber fix. In business since 1996, we look forward to seeing your new and familiar faces in the near future.

A letter to my customers,

In March 1996, a close friend, Lynette and I realized fantasy, we opened the Yarnbasket, a weaving and knitting shop. Since then there have been changes: Lynette took a full time job, the hours changed, Lynette moved and the hours changed, I retired and the hours changed, I went back to work and the hours changed.

It is now time for another change. The Yarnbasket will be closing. For some time the Yarnbasket has been fighting the economy.

I look at this as a beginning, there are now several neat shops in the area, you customers have forged a great support group of knitters among yourselves, and it's time for mew to let go. I have had a great opprotunity to instill my love of knitting to many fun people, and I can proudly say I have not lost one yet!

There is NO way I can thank all of you individually for your love and support, you have helped raise my boys, remodeled the house, put up with my dogs, and been a source of strength to me more times than you will ever know. Pleas know that this has been a very difficul decision, one that has been long and tortured in coming, but I know it is the right time, and the right decision for me.

I am aiming for the shop to be closed the end of May. Special orders will be filled , class projects will be completed. Starting Saturday May 3rd, the entire shop will be 20% off  and the books will be 25% off till the shop closes.

So I must say to my Yarnbasket friends...thanks for 12 beautiful years, for the opportunity to meet so many great people, for so many fond memories, for touching my life in so many ways!
